There is a story told about a boy who dreamt of a world of knights and noble women, of quests for beauty and meaning, of song-filled spaces, of high-minded expressions and warm human fellowship.

The dream felt so real to the boy, even though the world around him did not seem to reflect the same sense of wonder.

In order to make such a dream as this come true, he knew that he would have to put forth an epic fight against the odds.

Years passed. Decades passed. Struggle was unrelenting.

That which did not kill the dream made the dreamer stronger, yet not quite fulfilled. What was missing was a magical place where his dream would be at home and could make a home for others in search of a world of wonder – a place of song, a place of poetry, and a place to gather around a table full of heavenly food and fellowship.

The dream came true.

There is now such a place. It is called “Cakewood”.
The dreamer is Cakewood Creative Arts founder, Porter Smith.
